354 fiction publishers accepting unsolicited manuscripts in February 2026

Congratulations on writing a novel! Now it’s time to embark on the next stage of your writing journey: seeking a publisher.

Keep in mind these publishers are seeking all genres of fiction in February 2026 so if you’ve written a book that fits into a specific genre, such as romance, literary or fantasy, I suggest you check out my genre-specific publishers lists to avoid having to go through this gigantic one (it took hours to compile, and I’m sure it will take hours to read!). Like all of my publishers lists, the publishers listed here are currently accepting manuscripts without a literary agent, and I’ve done my best to weed out any dodgy or vanity publishers.

Don’t forget to check out my developmental editing services or pre-querying package if you want to make sure your novel is in top shape before you send it to a publisher for consideration. I offer a variety of services to suit all budgets, from writers looking for the standard developmental editing experience to those seeking high-level feedback with a quick turnaround time.

Good luck with your manuscript submissions!
