Sample edit

I know it’s important for you to choose an editor who understands you and your vision for your novel, so I offer two types of sample edits: a complimentary de-identified sample edit and a paid individualised sample edit.

Complimentary de-identified sample edit

A complimentary de-identified sample edit is made up of feedback taken from previous manuscripts I’ve edited. These de-identified samples are usually 1-2 pages from the manuscript’s editorial report.

All names, locations and identifiable information have been changed, but the essence of the feedback remains the same.

The de-identified sample edits have been created with full permission from the authors involved. Privacy is of the utmost importance to me, so I will never use feedback from an author’s edit without their explicit permission!

I have de-identified sample edits available in a variety of genres, including fantasy, romance, romantasy, mystery, horror, memoir, nonfiction and more.

How much does a de-identified sample edit cost?

De-identified sample edits are free.

Paid individualised sample edit

If you’re looking for a sample edit of your own work, I also offer an individualised sample edit where you’ll receive a short report and in-text comments on the first 1,000 words of your novel.

While I can't comment on big-picture issues while looking at a short but wonderful snippet of your novel, a sample edit can help you understand my editing style and the kind of feedback I provide at a scene level.

If you’re looking for something more thorough before committing to a complete edit, I’d suggest you check out my pre-querying package or pre-publishing package.

How much does an individualised sample edit cost?

The cost for an individualised sample edit is US$50 (€40/CAD$70/AUD$80/NZ$85/£40).
