5 paranormal romance writing prompts

Now you've decided to write a paranormal romance novel of your own, here are some writing prompts designed to spark your creativity in order to get those words flowing!

  1. A journalist moves to a small town after being fired from their job. Everything seems normal until the first full moon, when half the town's population seems to disappear for the evening. They set out to investigate the disappearances and discover the town is home to a secretive werewolf pack whose attractive leader doesn't want their secret revealed.

  2. A college student returns to their home town for summer break. Their high school crush looks like they haven't aged a day, despite it being years since they saw them last. It's almost like they are a vampire…

  3. A city worker inherits a rural bed and breakfast from a distant relative they didn't know existed. The city worker is convinced the place is haunted after the furniture keeps rearranging itself at night. They discover a lonely ghost is responsible for these 'renovations' and this ghost is only trying to help as they know the needs of customers after watching over the bed and breakfast for centuries. They agree to work together but find more than friendship.

  4. A busy corporate lawyer takes a rare day off work to volunteer at a wolf sanctuary. She connects with one of the wolves and discovers they are a werewolf who is stuck in wolf form. They work together to find a way for the wolf to return to its human form once more.

  5. A blogger who travels the world to debunk paranormal myths opens a coffin in an abandoned castle only to find it is occupied by a very handsome vampire, who is not happy their beauty sleep has been interrupted.
