Does Simon & Schuster accept manuscript submissions?

Does the publisher Simon & Schuster accept manuscript submissions?

Simon & Schuster does not accept manuscript submissions but some of their imprints do accept manuscript submissions from authors without the need for a literary agent.

This includes:

  • Salaam Reads: an imprint that celebrates the joy and variety of Muslim life.

  • Denene Millner Books: an imprint that publishes books speaking to the human experience of African American children.

  • Affirm Press: a Melbourne-based division dedicated to publishing Australian stories.

Simon & Schuster UK also runs New Chapter, a prize for unagented writers of colour and Books and the City, an open submission day for prospective commercial women's fiction authors.

What other publishers are accepting manuscripts this month?

I understand it is hard to find publishers that accept manuscript submissions! To help authors like yourself, I've put together lists of publishers who are accepting manuscript submissions this month in a variety of genres, including romance, fantasy, mystery, thriller, horror, nonfiction and literary fiction. You can find my full list of publishers on my blog.

Otherwise, check out my pre-querying package or developmental editing services to make sure your manuscript is in top shape before approaching a publisher!
